Dozens of Local Offices Are on the November Ballot. Qualifying Opens August 5.
Dozens of local offices across St. Tammany Parish will be on the ballot this November 3, and the window to become a candidate is short: August 5, 6, and 7, 2026.
From district judges and the district attorney to school board seats, justices of the peace, and constables, plus the mayors and aldermen of Abita Springs, Folsom, and Pearl River, these are the offices that shape daily life across the parish. There is also a special election for St. Tammany Parish Sheriff and a Covington City Council seat.

What You Will Need to Qualify
A completed Notice of Candidacy (Qualifying Form), signed before a notary or two witnesses. On it, you certify that you are a registered voter and that you have filed your state and federal income taxes for the past five years (or filed extensions, or were not required to).
A valid Louisiana driver's license or Louisiana identification card.
A valid email address.
The qualifying fee for your office, paid by cash, certified check, cashier's check, or money order (personal checks are not accepted), OR a nominating petition in place of the fee.
Fees and any additional forms vary by office. Confirm the exact fee and requirements for the office you are seeking with the Clerk of Court before you go.
