OUR MISSION
Our Mission
The St. Tammany Democratic Parish Executive Committee (DPEC) works to elect Democrats, strengthen the Democratic Party across St. Tammany Parish, and give every Democrat here a voice and a way to get involved.
Who We Are
The DPEC is the official governing body of the Democratic Party in St. Tammany Parish. We're a committee of local Democrats (your neighbors) elected by Democratic voters from precincts across the parish, operating under Louisiana law and the constitution and bylaws of the Louisiana Democratic Party. In short, we're the local arm of the Party: the people responsible for organizing Democrats and Democratic activity here at home.
What We Do
Our core purpose is to win elections. We recruit and support Democratic candidates for local and statewide office, assist their campaigns, and work to turn out the maximum Democratic vote in every precinct.
We also work to grow the party between elections: registering new voters, engaging communities across the parish, and supporting the local Democratic clubs and organizations that keep our movement active year-round.
Just as important, we keep Democrats informed. We educate voters on the issues, legislation, and elections that affect their lives, and we support the Democratic officials already serving our parish and state.
And we sustain the organization that makes all of this possible: raising funds for local and state Democratic efforts, maintaining a local presence and headquarters, and staying connected with the Louisiana Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee.
Get Involved
Everything we do depends on people willing to show up. Whether you want to run for office, join a committee, register voters, or simply meet other Democrats, there's a place for you here. Click “Get Involved” in the menu at the top of the page to get started.
Our work is guided by our local bylaws and the constitution and bylaws of the Louisiana Democratic Party, linked below.
