PRECINCT CAPTAINS

Become a Precinct Captain

We're recruiting neighbors across St. Tammany to serve as precinct captains — the local backbone of getting out the Democratic vote. You don't need to be a DPEC member or have any experience. You just need to care about your community and be willing to help. We'll train you.

What a precinct captain does:

  • Serves as the point person for their home precinct

  • Connects with and listens to neighbors

  • Helps recruit and coordinate a small team of precinct workers

  • Works to turn out the maximum vote for Democratic candidates

A few things to know (from our bylaws):

  • Each precinct can have up to three captains, so you can share the work with neighbors rather than carry it alone.

  • Captains are appointed by the Precinct Organizing Committee, with the approval of your district's DPEC representative, and work alongside the committee.

  • This form is an expression of interest, not a formal appointment. We'll follow up with you on next steps.
